Condom Demonstrations (External Condoms)
Condom Demonstrations: The Steps
1. Ask for CONSENT!
It is important that all people involved in the act of sex give their permission (with full personal agency) to engage in it. Consent can be taken away at ANY TIME. If a person is intoxicated or not in a full state of mind to give their consent, people should not have sex.
2. Check the expiration date on condom.
It's always better to make sure the condom is strong and functional. If the condom is expired, using it is still better than not using any protection at all. If you or your partner have access to more current condoms, it is wiser to get ahold of it for sex.

3. Opening condom package (ensure it has no tears).
Open the condom package along the ridges! Some people prefer to have sex in the dark, so the ridges help folks identify where to open. Before doing so, make sure there are no air bubbles or open tears (to ensure that the package was not tampered with or damaged beforehand). DO NOT OPEN THE CONDOM PACKAGE WITH YOUR TEETH. This can potentially break the condom, posing risk to pregnancy or STI transmission.
4. Making sure condom is in “sombrero hat”
The condom should be placed on the penis head and look like a sombrero hat to ensure it is on properly. This is to make sure the condom is not put on inside-out and working at its best to prevent cum/pre-cum, and other bodily fluids from spilling out or going through.

5. Hold air bubble.
Before rolling the condom down along the penis, the person putting it on should hold the tip of the condom through its air bubble. This will leave room for cum to be stored and helps with managing the feeling and friction that may occur during sex.
6. Roll down.
The condom needs to be rolled down from the tip of the penis head all along the shaft. This ensures coverage of the penis and prevention of cum/pre-cum leaking out.

7. Removal - slide off.
After sex, slide off the condom. It's best to do it away from the partner who was receiving (this reduces exposure and risk of pregnancy or STI transmission).

8. Dispose in trash (NOT THE TOILET!)
Condoms need to be thrown away after sex (they are not reusable). Tie up the used condom (to ensure that no cum leaks out) and throw it in the trash!
