Self-Care and Personal Development


Self-care and personal development play a major part in our lives and our chances of success and happiness. Self-care is a way of staying in touch with ourselves in the middle of hectic times, and it keeps us from being drained of energy. Just as important, personal development is what enables us to be better and do better by challenging us with obstacles that purposely give us a hard time.


Here are some suggestions (Keep in mind that everyone is different, and these suggestions just might not suit you):


Self care:

  • Taking the time to eat a meal (Hopefully it’s nutritious.)

  • Pamper yourself (Doesn’t have to be extravagant, it could be a little treat or just some skincare.)

  • Do a little exercise (Just to get the endorphins going!)

  • Dedicate a journal to yourself (Could be anything; plans, stresses, reflections, etc.)

  • Take a nap (Sometimes you just need that extra sleep/ makeup sleep.)

  • Meditate


Personal Development:

  • Join a club/ group (It’s a great way to socialize! Maybe drag a friend or two as well!)

  • Join a class/ program (Also another great way to socialize! You could also gain a variety of knowledge too!)

  • Think of something you haven’t done well and practice it! (It might have not gone well last time, but that was last time! Practice and you’ll get the hang of it!)

  • Do some volunteering (Also a great way to socialize, and you get to help others!)

  • Keep a journal (This could help with planning skills! You could write a rough idea of your day/ vision of success, etc.)
