Social Health and the Importance of Human Connection


A common saying you might have heard is “humans are social animals.” That saying has truth within it, because according to science, humans are social, and they have the capabilities of working together when there is a common goal. Having a group of people working together increases the chances of success, and bonding with each other creates positive feelings.


Here are some pros of having an active social life:

  • It can boost your immune system

  • Releases dopamine

  • Improves memory

  • Here are the cons of not having an active social life:

  • Increased chances of loneliness

  • Loneliness leads to increased rates of depression, suicide


If you’re looking to check out some social media apps, here are a few of the popular ones:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • Twitter

  • Whatsapp

  • Snapchat


If you have social media and you’re able to communicate with others, that’s great! But having face-to-face communication is more beneficial and you might make some great memories!


So here are some ideas to hang out:

  • Go to a park

  • Take a walk along the beach

  • Organize a mini photoshoot

  • Volunteer together
